It is a study of the transition of Muslim polity from simpleton tribal order into the grandeur of monarchy with the transfer of capital from Madinah to Damascus. It covers the period of Umayyads from 41 to 132 A.H including the events of desecration of the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah by Syrians; preference of Ummayads on the collection of tithe and tributes from non-Muslims rather than their conversion to Islam, and many more subjects without any sectarian biases.
